Sprout Touring Film Festival
The Triplex Cinema, Great Barrington

Please join us for 90 minutes of memorable & entertaining short films by and about people with developmental disabilities. Following the screening, the audience is invited to CATA's new studio at 70 Railroad Street for refreshments. Viewers can learn more about Sprout at www.gosprout.org.

OUTSIDER: THE LIFE AND ART OF JUDITH SCOTT

From a lifetime of institutionalization to international acclaim in the art world, this film is an intimate portrait of a compelling, eccentric and talented individual who has prevailed in the face of daunting odds.

DIFFERENCE IS NORMAL 3 min
A unique music video from Lebanon with a universal message of acceptance and tolerance.

DREAMS 4 min
A fun, inspirational short video presenting children and adults with Down Syndrome talking about their dreams and triumphs.

KING OF CAMP 42 min
Viru, a self-proclaimed music buff, survives his first day of summer camp! This video was shot during a 5-day Sprout "Make-a-Movie" trip in which people with developmental disabilities are given the opportunity to act and perform musical numbers. Seven of the actors are from Berkshire Hills Music Academy.

HOW DO I FEEL ABOUT THAT? 2 min
Seth Ehrlich, a person with developmental disabilities, gives a commentary on a community’s efforts to deny a group home from opening.

SHERI & PAUL 11 min
A couple shares their personal thoughts on love and marriage in this candid portrait.

THE KISS 1 min
A romantic short using the original camera invented by the Lumiere Brothers in 1895.
