Annual Appeal:
Dear Friends,
Fifteen years! From a single workshop in 1993 to over 1,000 this year, every day we are changing people’s lives through the arts.
Community Access to the Arts envisions a world where difference is a cause for celebration. Our work is thriving!!
CATA continues to work to make the arts accessible to people of all abilities & challenges; our staff, faculty artists, board & community partners are advocating, passionately, for our participants.
CATA addresses disability by noticing & honoring each individual's artistic abilities & unique gifts; our participants have found their creative voices & are joining others in our community in becoming CATA ambassadors.
CATA believes in the value of connection & the power of the arts to build bridges across every divide; we are continually pushing the boundaries that define what is artistry, what is virtuosity and what is extraordinary.
Our vision is thriving because of your support -- you make these human connections, this social change, possible by sustaining and celebrating our work. Thanks to you, CATA’s programs are becoming a model for other organizations throughout the state. The more people who are served by this mission and the more organizations that open their doors to ALL, the more we extend the simple but profound gifts of CATA: fulfillment, joy, honor & respect.
Our future is full! This year will see a significant expansion of our programs in North County, a new & larger studio/gallery at 70 Railroad Street with direct handicap access & more visibility, plus extra room for the wider community to join us for workshops, art exhibitions, poetry readings, and more. As always, our doors are open to you; join us to witness the work, to volunteer, to shop our CATAdirect retail store or the art gallery. We look forward to showing you all that we are creating with your help!
